A surprise proposal

Red Kite’s first, though we’ve had enquiries of this kind before, this time round it was a plan materialised. Michael had it all sorted out – plant the band, have the band play her favourite song and he would suddenly respond to the band and make the very grand gesture after a few touching words.

And that’s what he did.

Alicia and her guitarist came prepared while we set up a simple system for them. The guests at Brussel Sprouts, including friends of the couple, had no idea that this duo was meant to sing for that one table only.

When the time came for Ally to say “Would anyone like to join us for this special song?” Michael stepped out – his gf bewildered at his actions and she probably stayed in shock for the next couple of minutes when Michael revealed that he had planned for the songs to be sung to her. In mere fleeting minutes, Michael was on one knee, with the proposal ring in his palm. And the bride had her face covered, while she let herself indulge in tears of joy behind her palms.

Her friends slowly showed up with bouquets and it felt like it was the wedding already. Ally set the mood with Christina Perri’s A thousand years while everything happened. I remember Ally giving me the ‘ohmygosh so sweet’ look while she sang to the atmosphere.

Everything went as planned, the bf now has the gf with the ring on her finger. Congratulations Michael! :) )

Victor & Daphne Tie the Knot

18 March was a special day for newlyweds VIctor & Daphne as they tied the knot at Shangri La Hotel Singapore. The couple resides in Adelaide and has an awesome daddy who took care of everything before they needed to come back and finalise the details. known as Michael or ‘Uncle Chia’, he carefully picked ShiLi & Adi with Melvin for the dinner banquet and the Los Pintos as pre-dinner entertainment.

Here are some highlights:

“Super Cute” wedding celebrations of Lawrence & Pei Ching

The title of this post was adapted from their very own wedding speeches, within which was how Pei Ching described Lawrence – “my super cute and handsome husband”, and inspired by their comment of the band:

“We are super happy with the band!”

Though a last minute replacement, Lawrence & Pei Ching were won over by Celestine’s edgy vocal tone, backed up by Clifton’s nifty finger-picking skills along with Fadil’s fitting delivery on bass.

The couple had been together 8 years and is clearly a fun loving and humourous duo. We were also super glad to be there at the Horizon Pavilion at Rasa Sentosa with you!

Celebration of Love – WIlmond & Aiyu

A ‘Celebration of Love’ as Conrad Centennial Singapore likes to call it, was held for couple Wilmond & Aiyu on 23 October 2011. Enchanted by Tricia’s wedding during Levi & Joy’s wedding, the couple engaged Tricia to perform for them.

Sammin did a great job accompanying Tricia on the grand piano, a lovely piece of furniture slash musical instrument, property of Conrad. He performed instrumental pieces and added a tinge of jazz to Tricia’s usually pop repertoire.

Wedding Solemnization of Henny & Kelvin

 Newlyweds, Henny and Kelvin

Polkadot + Moonbeam brings together a beautiful blend of music and voices with Juliet and Didi.

 Juliet Pang (ukelele & vocals)

It was a sunny and cheerful Sunday morning along Craig Road where the wedding solemnization of Henny and Kelvin was held, at the intimate and classy fusion restaurant, Pavillion.

Our beautiful bride, Henny, reminded me of Snow White as she strolled gracefully around to greet her invited guests in her white wedding gown embroidered by a designer from Indonesia. Slightly before noon, Polkadot + Moonbeam begun playing their blend of love ballads specially compiled for the couple’s once-of-a-lifetime moment. To their surprise, several moments before their solemnization ceremony, P + M played the very song which Kelvin had proposed Henny with. What a lovely surprise. =)

We extend our best wishes for the newly married couple. May you enjoy eternal bliss together and live happily ever after!

It’s a doggydogworld

Not dog-eat-dog but doggy-dog – at least for Joys & Levi. They obviously love their dog so much that it had to be a part of their wedding celebrations.

For the very first time, there were 3 walking the aisle. How dear the dog is to them. The dog looked damn fine too.

Wedding dinner banquet was held at Four Seasons with who else but Tricia & ALvin.

Mariachi to celebrate everlasting love

Extreme Faith, a highly talented and sought after Filipino band, was recently invited to perform at the wedding of a couple who met while pursuing their degree at a local university. The very romantic wedding was held at the University where they met and was celebrated by a number of high profile guests.

Below are some of the entertaining music videos of the Extreme Faith going at it and some pictures we have captured and want to share with you. Enjoy :)

Wedding in a bungalow with a huge garden

That’s what Burkhill Hall offers to their wedding couples: a double storey bungalow with a pretty front yard with plenty of space for song and dance. Red Kite obviously provides for the song, while the audience can do the dance.

At least, we know The Basics achieved that for Jasmine and Dean’s wedding on 18 June. The couple wanted jazz and top 40s, they brought top 40s.
