Be Still.. Just Drink and Chill to good music

Introducing the fresh kid on the block – Still Bar of 22 Dempsey Road. This was where Oosh was, and now it has been taken over by one management to be split into four f&b outlets. There must be a bar in there… and there is. The Still bar.

A similar concept to Oosh, Still bar is a more intimate space with the popular al fresco seating. It serves bar bites, oysters on certain days and your drinks.

On every night, there would be something to entertain. On mondays, there are dancers. And the rest of the days (here goes my part)

Tuesdays – Acoustic Interpretations with Amanda Tee & Angus Sham

8pm onwards

A favourite since she was 17. She hasnt grown much, not a bad thing Amanda, means that you’ve still retained that childlike charm and sincere vocals. :)

Wednesdays & Thursdays – Jazz & Bossa Nights

830 onwards

Popular jazz babe Dawn Ho & Munir performs every midweek, serving you a platter of chill pills to ease the work stress away. Eye candy helps too.

Friday – The Zsa & Claire Auction (non-official name)

930 onwards

I dont know any duo more suitable for each other. I don’t know any duo with more personality. I also don’t know any other worth beguiling my night with.

Saturday – The Charm & Claire Concoction (Unofficial again)

930 onwards

One can play with puns, no? Especially if you C the Connection with Charm & Claire. Ok enough. Too sweet to miss, these two.

(photo to come)

Sunday – Jam Night with A-tee

8pm onwards

So Tee off the moping Sunday (because Monday is coming) by having a blast at singing or jamming with Amanda Tee. Bring all the musicians!!

“Super Cute” wedding celebrations of Lawrence & Pei Ching

The title of this post was adapted from their very own wedding speeches, within which was how Pei Ching described Lawrence – “my super cute and handsome husband”, and inspired by their comment of the band:

“We are super happy with the band!”

Though a last minute replacement, Lawrence & Pei Ching were won over by Celestine’s edgy vocal tone, backed up by Clifton’s nifty finger-picking skills along with Fadil’s fitting delivery on bass.

The couple had been together 8 years and is clearly a fun loving and humourous duo. We were also super glad to be there at the Horizon Pavilion at Rasa Sentosa with you!

Celebration of Love – WIlmond & Aiyu

A ‘Celebration of Love’ as Conrad Centennial Singapore likes to call it, was held for couple Wilmond & Aiyu on 23 October 2011. Enchanted by Tricia’s wedding during Levi & Joy’s wedding, the couple engaged Tricia to perform for them.

Sammin did a great job accompanying Tricia on the grand piano, a lovely piece of furniture slash musical instrument, property of Conrad. He performed instrumental pieces and added a tinge of jazz to Tricia’s usually pop repertoire.

Wedding Solemnization of Henny & Kelvin

 Newlyweds, Henny and Kelvin

Polkadot + Moonbeam brings together a beautiful blend of music and voices with Juliet and Didi.

 Juliet Pang (ukelele & vocals)

It was a sunny and cheerful Sunday morning along Craig Road where the wedding solemnization of Henny and Kelvin was held, at the intimate and classy fusion restaurant, Pavillion.

Our beautiful bride, Henny, reminded me of Snow White as she strolled gracefully around to greet her invited guests in her white wedding gown embroidered by a designer from Indonesia. Slightly before noon, Polkadot + Moonbeam begun playing their blend of love ballads specially compiled for the couple’s once-of-a-lifetime moment. To their surprise, several moments before their solemnization ceremony, P + M played the very song which Kelvin had proposed Henny with. What a lovely surprise. =)

We extend our best wishes for the newly married couple. May you enjoy eternal bliss together and live happily ever after!

Teacher’s Whiskey launches with Polkadot + Moonbeam

Made in Glasglow, Teacher’s Highland Cream launched its latest blend of whiskey in Singapore at Chateau de Chillon along Club Street with Polkadot + Moonbeam. Also known as P + M, the jazz duo brings together the smooth union of local singer-songwriter, Juliet Pang and Sydney multi-instrumentalist, Didi.

Sincere-ly Fine Watches

DeWitt held a mini product launch in it’s distributor’s outlet (Sincere) at Marina Bay Sands on 6 October 2011.

Polkadot & Moonbeam (aka Juliet & Didi) made the boutique seem more alive that evening, mesmerising the guests with their sentimental jazz music.

Juls was on ukelele and it blended perfectly well with Didi’s bass while they overlaid their jazzy vocals on strings.
