National Day Observance Ceremony at the Treasury Building

Finally we get to celebrate a national day ‘real’ civil service style. This year, Red Kite was given the honour to organise the NDOC for the departments at the Treasury building, which includes Accountant General’s Department, Prime Minister’s Office, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Trade and Industry amongst some others. MTI was the organising committee and had picked us to roll out the entertainment for them.

the concept this year, was to feature musical performances and of cozz, this is what Red Kite does best. We set the right people for the stage – the Singapore Char Siew Baos! i simply cant resist connecting them to all national and patriotic themed events, who can blame me? The Baos are backed up by musicians Jeremy Yeo on drums, James Yeo on bass and Sharon Nunis on keys, of whom were all darlings because they helped chart out the national days songs.

Rima Rasif was our special guest performer. Bringing my favourite legend back on stage was not a difficult decision, plus Rima has all the stage talk and moves to rouse the crowd.

Turns out, it was a super fun event!! i was nearly moved to tears by seeing my fellow country people decked out in red and singing their hearts out to the national day songs and was so happy to see the VIPS – Deputy Prime Ministers Teo Chee Hean and Tharman Shamugaratnam, MTI minister Mr Lim Hng Kiang, amongst others such as Mr Peter Ong (Head of civil service) cheering along and appreciating the music.

After the pledge taking, Gary & partner from Dance en Motion did a salsa number to unveil a nice red banner that said “Happy 46th  Birthday Singapore” which indubitably garnered lots of excitement and cheers.
in short, the NDOC was > NDP for me and all thanks to the team that made it happen! Special thanks to Alvin, Wai San, Michael and Mei Chern from MTI!

Deftones Live in Singapore

It was just one day after Blonde Redhead and I had to jump out of the indie suit into a black tee shirt and sneakers. The crowd was early, and standing for 2 hours before the show began was expected, but a lousy sound system wasnt. Nevertheless, the highlights for me was Chino’s smiling personality and a healthy mosh pit. People who knew mosh etiquette.

Unfortunately my battery died on my so I couldnt get more videos, but sharing what I have here:
